With America right around the corner, I've been thinking about all the things I have missed over the past 9 months that I can't wait to have back in my life again! Plus, not only have I been away this past year, but I have also spent the past two summers working at camp in Vermont, so I have missed the annual events held only in the summer time!
Dunkin' Donuts - I have already asked my Mom if we could make a very important pitstop on the way home from JFK to the shrine of iced coffees. You would think after visiting Italy and experiencing their delicious espressos that Dunkin' would be beneath me. Absolutely not! I want it now more than ever. And thankfully there is one right down the road from Holy Cross, too!
Byram Library Book Fair - This book fair is held every June and I've missed it for the past 2 years, so I'm very excited! And it's just a short jog from my house which is perfect. Usually I end up buying a ton of books for super cheap, but then how many of these actually get read? And then, ironically, I end up donating back the same ones next year. But this year will be different (so I say)! I want to read a bunch this summer so this book fair is at the top of my list.
Greenwich Avenue sidewalk sale - This is what I've really missed the past few summers. Greenwich Avenue is about a 9 block street in the main part of Greenwich. You can do all of your shopping here and then some. Dresses, shoes, pharmacies, lunch, movie theatre. During the summer it's always super crowded, especially on this special weekend in July. All of the stores bring out racks and racks of their pieces and sell them on the sidewalk, usually for pretty reduced prices. Such a treat! Like the book fair, I end up coming home with a few too many impulse purchases, but sometimes you get lucky and find something special.
St. Roch's Bazaar - I actually was able to go to our church's bazaar last August, but it was the day before I left for Ireland. Needless to say, I was barely seeing straight and couldn't really enjoy the festivities. Pizza frites, good music, and carnival games. Sounds like the perfect way to end the summer before I head back to school!
Countdown: 10 days
Slan!
I must have lost track of time. Are you coming home already?
